Asset Inspector | Cromwell

Mō mātou - About Connetics

With our head office based in Christchurch and depots in Cromwell and Tawa, we are responsible for constructing and maintaining distribution electricity reticulation, substations and protection across these locations. Providing such a critical service is no easy task and we know that to be the best, our people need to be connected, safe, and involved.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi - About the role

Covering wide-ranging terrain and varied electricity distribution infrastructure sites, this role is autonomous and self-managing, with plenty of unique and interesting project work. Flexibility around weather and infrastructure requirements might mean townscape asset inspection with a stop at your favourite local café for lunch one day, then offroad adventures in the majestic Central Otago high country the next.

Reporting to the Substation Supervisor and working collaboratively with the contract administration team, this role is critical in delivering a quality inspection service for our customers. Inspecting of assets (for example transformers, air break switches, earth testing and link/service boxes) involve the use of hand-held tablets, go pro cameras, thermal cameras, and other test equipment. Full inspection training will be given to the successful candidate.

This role is based from the Cromwell Depot with a vehicle provided and freedom to live anywhere in the surrounding vicinity.
